Introducing
Brent McKay and wife Marie-Clare
Mill Electrical Bay of Plenty
Our Bay of Plenty branch opened in 2020, and is headed up by experienced electrician, Brent McKay.
His wife Marie-Clare works as an architectural designer and is never too far away to have input on the aesthetics and workability of his electrical plans.
Between them, they bring a wealth of experience to the table; Brent began his career in Australia, where he cut teeth as an apprentice, before moving to Auckland.
Here, he specialised in commercial projects, and was introduced to Mill Electrical Owner Nic Gold.
For the past 11-years Brent has been working in the big smoke as an electrical project manager for a large company that specialises in intelligent transport systems.
He made the move to Papamoa in 2015, loves the Bay of Plenty region and aims to deliver a high standard of service for his customers, every single time.
With 23-years’ experience and knowledge in renovations, new builds, maintenance, and health and safety regulations he can offer the best solution for your budget or time frame.
Marie-Clare is always there with a discerning eye to ensure the electrical elements of your home are both practical and aesthetically pleasing.
She brings a female perspective on layout and can also give advice from an architectural design point of view.

Electrical Wiring and Rewiring
If you are starting a new build, it’s important for electrical wiring to meet specific guidelines for safety and efficiency. Older homes often require an electrical ‘health check,’ to ensure wiring is in-line with modern standards. Mill Electrical BOP offers expert advice and workmanship across the board with a high standard of workmanship, every time.
Security System Installation
Whether for your home or commercial property, a security system provides peace of mind and keeps your family and your assets safe. There are so many options available, give us a call to find out more about the solutions we offer, and how we can help
Home Wifi Solutions
Due to the current state of the world, working from home is the new normal. Standard domestic modems generally can’t keep up with this increased demand, with multiple devices on the system. Call Mill Electrical, we can give you an out of the box solution to increase your home Wifi capabilities and range.
RCD Protection Installation
Installing an RCD or, Residual Current device, can save you from a potentially fatal electric shock, and even prevent electrical fires. The system is designed to shut off power if a fault is identified. Many older properties do not have an RCD installed – we are always happy to help identify if your home needs one, or complete maintenance on your current system.
General Installs
Mill Electrical is always on hand to help install your new appliance or electrical feature – from a new oven, to heat pumps, sound or security systems, lighting, smart home technology and more.
